If you are an entrepreneur using Twitter as part of the marketing strategy for your business or you are a blogger trying to improve your traffic, one of the most important metrics you look at is how many clicks your tweets are getting, specially when those tweets are containing links to your own site.
One thing I’ll tell you right off the bat is that, marketing in general works different for each one of us and it delivers different kinds of results too. Twitter is no different and, while I always say that you should not rely on anybody’s advice but instead run several tests until you find the most effective way, the data in this infographic offers a very nice starting point for you to do so.
The infographic is from Dan Zarrella, I’m pretty sure you’re familiar with his work but if you’re not, click on that link and bookmark his blog or subscribe to his RSS. What I like about Dan is that he gets simple things we all need to know and he goes very deep into the data to provide you with tips you can take action on.

I know, too much talk about Twitter and you still trying to figure out if it’s right for you or your business, or if you should tweet as yourself or as a business.
While everybody and their grandmas are looking for new angles to keep arguing about the war between Facebook and G+, Twitter came back yesterday to kindly drop a bomb on the Internet. Just in time to make it in 2011. Twitter gets a high five from me!
Now you’re hearing about “Discovery” and “Brand Pages” and your head’s spinning about how you approach it or how you adjust.
Fortunately Flowtown just published its new infographic to help you determine how you are going to use Twitter or if you should stay clear. And it sort of funny too…

This is a guestpost by Bradley Gauthier, a Digital Nomad.
As the social web becomes more important for online success, I’ve noticed a major flaw within Internet marketing:
Most online content marketers have it wrong.
Or at least partly wrong.
But before you storm off for the pitchforks and torches, let me explain through a quick story:
The Band Promoter
A few years ago, my roommate at the time was obsessed with a band. He owned all their albums and memorized the lyrics to every song.

Just 2 months ago, we were discussing here how StumbleUpon passed Facebook as a traffic generator and how it represents more than 50% of the total social media traffic.
That had a lot of different reactions, most people agreed that while StumbleUpon can generate more hits than the other social sites, the quality of that traffic is much lower. Some people don’t like one traffic referral negatively affecting the overall numbers when they look at their analytics.
Today, StumbleUpon comes back with more of those interesting facts, this time through a beautiful infographic designed by Column Five. Let’s take a look at the possible takeaways here:

Yes, it feels good to talk about Twitter after spending a full week discussing Facebook’s major announcement. And why not, a little bit of Google+ too.
By the way, I was just reading today’s post from Jeff Bullas and I’m happy to see that even when Facebook hijacked the Internet, Google+ was able to grow nearly 9 million in 2 days. That’s pretty impressive.
But like I said, let’s please talk about Twitter for a change.
This infographic from Lemon.ly talks about Twitter timing and I thought I’d share it with you because it seems to be a regular concern. One of the questions I often get from clients and readers is “What is the best time to Tweet?” and while I think there is no one-size-fits-all kind of answer for this, at least this data lets you visualize a trend.

Lots of stuff happening on the Facebook sphere this week. And as usual a lot is said, rumors come and go… so I though it would be cool to take it down a notch for the reader at SocialMouths and get right to the point explaining the new updates.
The new features are 2, so far (hey, the week is not over), “Lists” and the “Subscribe” button. We’ll discuss both of them and I’ll tell you exactly what they do.
Let’s first say that these new updates are really something that a lot of people expected from Facebook a long time ago. Not only that but they are pretty much just adding some of the functionalities from both biggest competitors Twitter and Google+, we’ll see why now.

Usually when the media talks about social media growth or when they mention a specific network, they go to the number of users.
We know Facebook has a zillion users, we know that G+ has hit 25 million. While that information is important, it’s like me saying that I have X amount of Twitter followers. In other words, you don’t get much out of it.
The reason I want to share this infographic that Search Engine Journal made public today is because it provides more interesting facts. The cool part will be to take some of that data and see how it can be useful to you. For example, did you know that 75% of brand “likes” are coming from advertisements? or that the growth of mobile access to Facebook from 2010 to 2011 is 200%.
