How Are You Using Google Buzz? Or… Are You Using It? [Poll]

As usual, Google makes a big splash launching new products and also as usual, the hype dies pretty quick.

I don’t question that Google Wave or Google Buzz might be great products but I don’t agree with the whole “it will change the way you use the internet” parade created around it. The truth is that today, people are still talking about Twitter.

    I would like to use it… I pop in there every now and again, but usually just get frustrated by the fact that it seems like it is mostly automated through Twitter, RSS feeds, etc. Most of the people I follow on Buzz I also follow on Twitter, so it is like a double dose of the same thing. I find HootSuite a lot easier when keeping up with people than Buzz.

    I don't think it's worth spending additional time and energy on more of the same, really just with the purpose of not being absent on what “could” be a major platform.

    I believe there is clearly something went wrong while making Google Buzz! Certainly the privacy options is the one most obstacle for many confusions it raised!

    Thank you Allen. Of course, there are a few reasons, for example I don't like the fact that it is imposed on users or that it's inside Gmail, then you have the privacy issues as you mention, the issues with delays and we can go on…

    I think they got a little anxious looking at the impressive growth rate from the others. If there is somebody with enough power to build something remarkable is Google.

    Considering that I have only opened Buzz twice since it launched I am not a big fan. I just don't use it. I do automatically feed my Twitter feed to buzz so I have had a few comments from people via Buzz. I also have Buzz bookmarking on all of my sites and I see Twitter sharing as the first choice of most people. I agree with Andrea about not spending additional time on more of the same. Other than the hype associated with Buzz when it came out it just isn't “The Buzz”.

    Also, I like to keep my e-mail private and I feel Buzz intrudes upon my privacy by being a part of gmail.

    I started using Buzz, it was cool. But some of my friends keep freaking out about the system's friend suggesting feature (xxx is following you…) and soon enough i realized too many posts and no time to read them, and people i didnt know keep appearing with massive posts… so i simply deactivated it. but it was cool. i missed some more filtering control…

    I have used google buzz in start but due to its privacy issue and automatic followup (which is resolved now), i have never used it again…i will try it again
