Spread Some Love For The Blogs You Read… Here Is My Link Love

loveblogsTalking to Sandy Weiner the other day, she asked me why I don’t post links to the blogs I read. Big part of social media is spreading love, so I decided to write a post listing all the bloggers I follow and at the same time, hopefully some of you guys will find something useful.

So here is the list organized in my favorite topics:

Productivity / Simplicity

Not only one of my regulars but one of the most popular blogs in the planet. Leo also wrote the book The Power Of Less and while I don’t follow any productivity systems, this one made change how I see the whole concept on getting things done, eliminate the clutter and only focus on what gets me closer to my dreams. The little stuff gets done by the universe (great virtual assistant by the way…)

He posts daily and you can always count on getting a positive message that you can truly apply to your life. Love the simplicity of the layout, it is very clear that what counts here is the message. You can also follow him on Twitter at @zen_habits.

Entrepreneurship

Mostly video interviews with great personalities from Seth Godin to Gary Vaynerchuck, but what I love the most is his own story as an entrepreneur, maybe because I went through something very similar.

The authority in all blogging matters. It’s nice to have all this information in just one stop, at ProBlogger you can learn about how to monetize your blog or how to build a better blog or improve the one you have, tips about writing and much more. I don’t care if you’re a beginner or an experienced blogger, you need to make this one of your regulars.

Social Media

Obviously the two sources for all social media news, even though I try not to get into all the hype, it’s always good to take a few minutes to scan these sites for relevant stuff going on. Here is where you are going to learn about what’s hot that day, a new iPhone App or the latest launch from Facebook.

If you want to learn more about a particular network, just search Mashable and you will find a few articles about it. These 2 sites are major blogs posting 10 to 20 articles a day. Also find them on Twitter at @Mashable and @TechCrunch

    I'd say, you and I share great taste in blogs. And this is a wonderful post for its "pay it forward" and "don't miss this gem" feeling.

    I too follow for example White Hot Truth and remember Danielle when she was the Danielle of CarrieandDanielle and their Style Statement site. I posted my answers to the Question of The Day often and looked forward to doing so. The bigger conversation they were facilitating was causing connections I suspect. I recall being "bummed" when they announced they had in essence sold the rights to the site went their individual ways, and the "spirit" of the blogsite shifted.

    But ah well, the Impermanence of All things.

    That being said, I appreciate the writers and bloggers who over long periods of time stay true to their voice, their passions, their curiosity, which is so intertwined with one's personal brand (or dare I suggest ESSENCE.)

    I too like Sandy could spend my entire day reading...commenting, and sharing my divine finds with those I support and want to see do well.

    And as the Communications /Social Media enthusiast I am, I sometimes must take a break--when my brain feels like it will explode and I unplug entirely. But I will always be a big reader clearly and love suggestions, yes I do.

    My big life theme remains one of believing in abundance: that there are more than enough people wanting the services of people offering services (for example.) I don't want my favorite resources and my clients to remain a best kept secret just because they are shy or not tech savvy or both. I revel in making connections between people and the things they want/need and evangelizing the good stuff---so ultimately the creators and users of technology, we humans, can connect as we need to.

    What I appreciate about you and (therefore your blog) is how you are a guide and a bridge between the interactive digital tools you understand, how to use them well, how to discern what's critical and how they serve real people to pursue work and livelihoods they prefer. Your "voice" is both analytical and heartfelt and generous. That gets my vote for a must read whenever there is a post to read or comment on (now that I know who you are!)

  • A good way of managing your favorite blogs is Google Reader so they're all in one place and you're not visiting each one...
